the back page, however, is pretty weak. for a while now the backpage has been substituting crudeness and vulgarity for actual humor.

Agreed. Some things are just inappropriate to print. The rest of the paper looks really awesome though. The new roundabout on collegeview looks like it's going to be so pretty!!!

lol, are you two in some freak right wing christian organization or just in the knitting club? "some things are inappropriate" "substitute vulgarity for humor"... are you for real? seriously go get a life and let the rest of us have fun.

Imagine if a prospective parent picked up the paper and read the back page. Imagine if YOUR parent read the backpage back when you were visiting or something.. pretty inappropriate stuff.

It's not about free speech. Students can and obviously do print whatever they want. But it's just crude humor. Sex jokes as a substitute for wit. Which really contrasts with how well thought out the rest of the paper is. A group works really hard day in and day out on each week's issue, and it sucks that it's professional image is often ruined with toilet humor.

the horror of a white middle-aged rich parent - their child procreating... indeed, the prospects are quite dark for the genetic pool...

"ever thought of moving to north korea? you might like it there... they shoot you if you have sex without a state order..."

you're missing the point. it's not that the Misc shouldn't have sex jokes. Or that people shouldn't have sex. It's that the Misc should have sex jokes that are funny and pointed, if they choose to use sexual humor. i.e. not just trashy ways of saying "female ejaculate" without any punchline.

campus newspapers represent schools to visitors as well as parents and alumni, and that is certainly not an accurate, fair, or even humorous representation of most vassar students.

Hey froshies, wait til you're older and you'll understand that it's not "toilet humor" so much as reality.

unfunny is unfunny whether it has to do with female ejaculate or anything else. and the back page this week was painfully unfunny--and i say painful mostly because the person who wrote it obviously thought it was hilarious.
