Kentucky Praises JJ

Kentucky.com put out another article today on JJ's move to UK. Here's what certain Kentuckians had to say about our dean:

J. John Harris III, a co-chair of the search committee, said Jackson has an "exuberance of energy" and exemplifies how academic excellence and diversity go hand-in-hand.

Jackson has "high character, uncompromised values and an unfailing commitment to the issues of diversity," said Harris, a professor of leadership studies and scholar in the African American Studies and Research Program.

Lynda Brown Wright, chairwoman of educational and counseling psychology, described Jackson as having "a presence about her ... a certain genuineness about her, a down-to-earthness" that makes her appealing to a wide range of people.

Brown Wright said Jackson will "galvanize the leadership -- vice presidents, deans -- to promote the issues of inclusiveness and diversity."

Several at UK have said they see Jackson as a future president of some institution.
