A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST WEDNESDAY FOR THE EASTERN CATSKILLS...MID HUDSON VALLEY AND LITCHFIELD HILLS IN NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 6 INCHES IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. THE GREATER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL FALL AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 1000 FEET. ALSO...ICE ACCRETION OF ONE TENTH TO ONE QUARTER INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON... THEN MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN LATER THIS EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY...BUT TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RISE WELL ABOVE FREEZING WHICH WILL ALLOW ANY FROZEN PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE TO LIQUID RAIN BY LATE MORNING.
