An article in last week's Time magazine reports that the common Nalgene bottles we all know and love may actually be harmful to us. According to the article, Nalgene bottles are made of polycarbonate, which contains the hormone BPA. Surprising amounts of BPA seep into the water, which can cause damage to reproductive systems.
Refilling bottled water bottles can also be harmful. These bottles are made of a material called polythylene, which is "not designed for repeated reuse."
So what should you use to drink? HDPE bottles (High-density polyethylene), also produced by Nalgene, or bottles made of Stainless Steel.

this shit better not be that exciting news Mads promised. . .
just drink regular bottles of water. poland spring is really good.
is that sarcasm 1:17?? drinking bottled water is like practically terrorism
terrorism?? why is that? it tastes way better than out of one of those gross nalgenes.
It's not terrorism, it's more like taking a dump on mother nature's chest.
yeah, water is free man.
Seeing how many heated comments there are on a post like this makes me regret coming to this school
oh god, 2:23, get off your high horse. do you think things are any better at other schools? this is america, we're a bunch of teenagers, get over yourself.
say what you will, nothing like a gold bottle of dasani. it tastes way better than tap.
but dasani IS tap water...
the problem with bottled water is the petroleum that it is made out of. the water's the same as what comes out of your sink.
but it tastes better...
stop hating on bottled water. it's delicious! and clearly nalgenes will kill you
The issues that people have with bottled water have nothing to do with flavor - it's about the fact that the production of disposable water bottles accounts for an incredible amount of pollution that contributes to global warming, and that most water bottles end up taking up space in landfills. Water bottles are very convenient, and you may be apathetic enough that you prefer a slightly tastier water to one that is much more conscientious, but the advantages of drinking tap water are enormous.
old news, kids.
so why dont we stop judging what other people drink.
