NoVice Tonight

NoViCE show tonight featuring:

This Columbus, OH outfit play what they call "shitgaze"--a real lovely mess that sounds like a more anxious early Pavement or Guided By Voices. They've been called the Stooges to Times New Viking's MC5. Psychedelic Horseshit write beautiful pop songs-- and then transform them into scrappy, deformed mutants that they perform with a vengeance.

Scuzz and fuzz never sounded so sharp. Says Pitchfork: "Their loose, bare-bones songs could be garage-rock by default, but they almost always come with a tender, somewhat prepubescent undercurrent... In their best moments, Home Blitz fluently mix familiar garage and avant-rock idioms with poignant, evocative details of youth, all in a sweet and surprising conversational tone." For fans of Jonathan Richman and Pavement.

Vassar rockers bring the old-school punk and hardcore heat! Known for their wicked Fugazi covers and political party jams. With Reed "Dunzo" Dunlea '09, Eric "I'm Eric Chabot" Chabot '08, Chris "Wreckin Cru" Beach '09, and Andy "Sarah" Connors '08.
