Alyssa On Her Way Out?

Spoiler Alert!
Bad news, readers: Our Vassar representation on Project Runway could be coming to an end. Wesley, who was Alyssa's designer, got the "auf" from Heidi last night.

Next week the designers have the choice to pick new models, so Alyssa's stay might not be up just yet!

Check out this blog for more pictures of Alyssa.

Oh no! well even if she goes, it's still amazing that she got the opportunity.

That dress was SO BAD.

But I don't get how Stella made the top 3

SHE chose the fabric.
SHE chose the design.
And let's be real, her style at vassar is also super tight and super short = not so hot.
For once, it's not Vassar kids bashing, but real world people who DON'T know her, ie. Nina Garcia, an editor of a major fashion magazine.
So she should go home. Write down notes.
Sorry but she's the reason Wesley got kicked off, and I thought he had a lot of potential. More so than Stella.

you need to stop sippin that haterade 2:58 and focus all of that energy on something productive instead of putting someone who's gaining experience in her desired field down.

While she did choose the fabric and had input in the style, she did not however influence Wesley's terrible sewing and poor execution.
I thought wesley was a better desisgner than that, but i guess not. i just hope she gets to stay in when they pick models again next week.

Not haterade, I just spoke fact.
I'm sorry, did she not choose the fabric, or the design? Did I miss that? 'Cause, please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh and I'm probably doing something more productive than you this summer.
I'm tired of people saying people who comment in the slightest bit negative have "nothing to do"- we go to Vassar for crying out loud.
Do you really think I'm sitting on my ass this summer on Mads?
Ha. Yea right. Nice try though.

I know far too many people who go to vassar who actually ARE sitting at home doing nothing this summer. Unfortunately, it is a mistake to assume that just because you go to a good liberal arts college, you will automatically be surrounded by other motivated interested people. I am sick of people lazing around doing nothing, so good for alyssa for actually doing something she is interested in. i would think twice before continuing to bash her for giving it a shot.

looking at these comments, I realize why i don't like vassar- you guys suck!

Anonymous said...

8:28- you do realize that these comments are made by the same small group of people, representing a rather tiny part of Vassar's population, right?
Try to be less judgmental, less quick to jump to conclusions, please.

the woman who made the dress with the wings coming out of the ass should have gone home.

and they should never let models pick anything out ever!

the models picked the fabrics but Wesley executed horribly. His sewing skills got him the boot. I expected more from a marc jacob intern

while we're on the subject of summer work, here's a little advice:

don't take a job canvassing for a non-profit unless you're really sure that you'll be good at it. getting fired after three weeks and trying to find temporary work in mid-summer is a shit way to spend your time.

alright people. the model picks the fabric...yes. the model tells the designer what they want...yes. the designer creates THEIR OWN interpretation of the model's style..YES. THE DESIGNER'S WHOLE PURPOSE OF BEING ON THE SHOW IS TO SHOW THEIR ABILITY AND SKILLS WHEN CHALLENGED. if the designer "can't work with the fabric" then they should not deserve to be there. it doesnt matter if the fabric was tissues, wesly did not know how to sew the fabric he was given. alyssa had NO part of the sewing and finishing of the dress. so to say she is the reason he got auf'd is a lie. i mean look at stella, she totally changed the design of the model's dress to work for her. wesly could have done that but he didnt. so it is his fault that he lacks the creativity and skill needed to continue.

Some of you guys are mad judgmental.

11:35 is right. That other dude, the one with the daughters and the facial hair, had the same material, but he didn't totally f-up his dress.

Anonymous said...

yea I've heard canvassing is really tough/only rewarding if you 100% love/believe in what you do/are changing the world(or at least think you are).
i'm interning a 9-5. i finally have a complete appreciation of The Office. Cubicle life is TOUGH.

Anonymous said...

Haha yeah im working a cubicle summer internship 7-330 and i know what you mean about appreciating the office. So many people here resemble characters from the show, it's histerical. I also have a new appreciation for people who live their lives happily while still getting up at 5am every day of the week. shit is mad hard. Also in response to 8:28, the fact that some people at Vassar are capable of speaking their minds and not worrying about hurting other people's feelings is one of the reasons i love it here. It's honest, and it's real. The overly sensitive students who get offended by it should grow a pair, and yeah i've been on the receiving end before.

"Project Runway:

Quoted for great justice.

@5:27 - You prove your own proposition right with that utterly unoriginal and utterly-devoid-of-creativity attempt at mockery.

Project Runway is on tonight, and I have a pretty good idea that you'll be a member of the simpering masses who congregate in front of the idiot box to watch it.

Have a nice day!

5:29, smoke a bowl and chill the fuck out.
the comment at 5:27 was mocking the whole anonymous bitchy bullshit that happens during these comments...not your previous oh so intelligent and holier-than-thou quote.
so cut the self-important crap, get over your superiority complex and don't immediately jump to conclusions and get all defensive.
kthanxbye

2:58, she didnt make the design, and shes not the only one who chose that fabric yet the other designers made good designs with it. besides a good designer can work with anything. alyssa beat out HOW MANY PEOPLE to get on the show? so dont even dare say she should go home. i doubt youre doing anything useful with your life, unless your primary goal is to sit on your ass at your computer all day.

kristen said...

oh and im sorry, was the fabric bad? am i mistaken or did the designers have to use grocery store items for the first challange? in a previous season they had to use garbage. wesley had no excuse for sucking so hard.

EXACTLY 10:47, some people are just so immature.
