Vassar Faculty Contributes To Campaigns

Our friends at Wesleying just came across Fundrace from the Huffington Post, a site which lists campaign contributors and the amounts they give. Invasion of privacy, maybe. Interesting, definitely.

According to the site, the Vassar faculty listed have donated a total of $18,595 to 2008 Democratic nominees. There are no contributions to any Republican campaigns.

Eighteen faculty members donated to the Obama campaign, seven to Clinton, and one to Bill Richardson.

Keep in mind this only includes people who donated greater than $200 to a single candidate. Historically, GOP candidates receive a larger quantity of small donations (witness Ron Paul's ability to raise a crapton of cash).

That throws sites like this slightly out of balance because you don't "see" the GOP donations as easily, but they're there. :-)

Very interesting. I found myself on there. Creepy.

uhhhh Derek correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Obama the one receiving small donations from a rather large army of supporters...

Yo- BUT who does the administration to contribute to? I know at least one of our shady ruling forces contributed to the local republican running for Poughkeepsie Supervisor even though he was involved in some sketchy campaign finance stuff when on the planning board. And little contributions can make a bigger difference in local elections.
