Betty Gets Animated!

This clip was posted in January, so we know we're way behind on this, but we just saw it for the first time last night.

Everyone's favorite security guard Betty makes a cameo in this clip about the effects of alcohol and Vassar's drug and alcohol policies. The video was shown to freshmen last night as part of Orientation.

Check out Betty as a cartoon character at the 5:00 minute mark. Yes, it is her real voice. D.B. Brown also makes a cameo.

FYI this video was made entirely by Vassar students! The script, music, character design, backgrounds, voices, animation -- ALL done by your fellow students.

This is pretty sick (the good kind). Wouldn't have minded seeing it last year. The one thing I didn't like- they mainly showed female students making "bad decisions", perpetuating the stereotype that girls are more irresponsible drinkers- something that hasn't been true in my experience. Ah well. Realistic messages overall.

hmmm 47% of vassar students choose not to drink?

47% of college students...they didn't specify if the percentage was the same for Vassar.

Just saw this in the link about Betty from Dec 2010. Such an awesome video! I loved all the Vassar landmarks and that they emphasized respect for the cleaning staff. I hated it when people left messes for them.
