Jewett wins Serenading!The dorm beat out the 3-time defending champions Main with a modified rendition of "Please Don't Stop the Music."
Strong came in second place followed by Lathrop in third.

This is Luis, Senior Class President:
First let me say that Jewett was impeccable. Everyone sang clearly and knew the lyrics, they did almost the entire song and they were respectful without groveling too much. Their choreography was good too, and their energy throughout the entire event was awesome. Good Job!
I have to agree with the bloggers that Lathrop deserved second place. A very close second to Jewett, in mi opinion. SG and I tried to convince the committee to give them this price but as you all know it is also composed of administration and we were outvoted. The other members of the committee (4 out of 6) thought it was too "dirty" and inappropriate. I tried to convince them that although it was "edgy", the craftsmanship was awesome and it was well prepared and thought out. In the end SG and I had to concede and Lahtrop got third. Sad.
Strong was incredible too! Love the SNL reference! This year's house team clearly has their shit together. Good job women!
Despite the controversy over the prizes, everyone did an awesome job and I want to thank all the students who came out and all the dorm presidents for helping me throw this event.You are all awesome! We had more participation than any previous year, and the quality of the house performances was also superior.
This is the first showing of what promises to be an AWESOME year. I am glad 2012 got a great welcome to our campus, and I encourage you all to meet more seniors and enjoy 2009, the best class in Vassar history.
