The Bookstore of the Future Committee sent out an update on the bookstore relocation project in an all-campus email earlier today. In case you didn't take the time to read the document, here are some interesting points about the bookstore and the project:1. The bookstore will most likely be called Juliet Bookstore and not Vassar College Bookstore.
2. The University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, and other schools all have off-campus Barnes and Noble bookstores.
3. The new bookstore will have expanded hours and more employment opportunities.
4. The second floor of the bookstore can serve as a meeting space for Vassar students.
5. The cafe of the bookstore can supply foods from local restaurants, such as Babycakes and Zarona's.
From Davison, to ACDC, to the bookstore, everything seems to be changing.

the bookstore will probably open in january 2010 -- construction will start this summer or fall.
there will be a meeting of the campus community on september 17th at 5pm to discuss the changes.
Hey Mads,
I have a question. Will the existing on-campus book store remain? Or will it be moved entirely? ...and what will become of the now on-campus space?
Nope, the book store will be entirely moved off campus. They haven't decided what to do with the current space.
Thanks for reading!
