YES!!! A PROFESSIONAL NEWS HEADER!!! FINALLY!

the only issue with the article is the bs about a wide variety.

Sure, there's a million different desserts that takes up a quarter(ish) of the space available in acdc, but other than that, they run out of most things.

I went to the DC at 6 30 the other day and they were out of mashed potatoes.

Also, what happened to the chicken tenders? That was a clutch standby for people looking to just get food quickly rather than waiting in line for the grille.

And don't get me started on the lack of waffle fries....

finally someone explained the meal plan structure...

the dining system sucks. i just don't understand why we had to change from the pay as you go approach.

You guys ever tried spending an entire day in ACDC? Hit up one of the side rooms and you can study there for hours and not get bothered - and get food/drink whenever you want!

Then again, it's not like ACDC chairs are entirely comfortable for hours.

Dinner is thirteen dollars.

Dinner is only $13 if you pay out of pocket. It's an average of $11 depending on which meal plan you're on.

$11 is too much for dinner. or any dc meal.

last year, i'd spent about $15 on all three meals: yogurt + fruit for breakfast ($3), express lunch ($5), and either dc/retreat dinner ($7).

and now i'm paying over $30 a day. awesome.

What on earth did you eat for dinner that cost $7?

sandwich or wrap or salad and a soda

the dc is ripping everyone off... the same stuff used to cost 6 points last year. fuck them

the thing is that "points" last year cost more than $1 on the meal plan. so people who spent 15 points a day on food actually spent about $25 a day. how much exactly depended on the exact meal plan you got - minimum plan points cost much more than plus plan points. so now it feels like you're spending more, but really the cost is more transparent. there's no disincentive to get the minimum plan now, though, so get that and eat off-campus or cook for yourself to fill in the gaps.

that's not to say that it isn't ridiculously expensive -- it is. how come restaurants with waiters and shit, who have to guess what people will order and how many people will show up, can serve meals at lower costs than acdc, which knows almost exactly how many people will show up and decides what we're eating?

if you were on the minimum plan last year, each point was $2. if you were on standard, it was more like 1.50.
