Unless we all mobilize, the bookstore is essentially a done deal. Hooray, Starbucks... :-\
THANK GOODNESS!! I am so excited for some decent coffee.
You can get decent coffee at the Muddy Cup, Crafted Kup or Cubbyhole. Viva la independent coffee shops! Fuck Starbucks imperialism!
yo mads can you tell us what went down at the discussion today
Yeah, I'm walking down to the Muddycup before 10:30 class at Rocky.
get real.
Besides. I needz my caramel frapp.
If a sugary drink is more important to you than the lives of local vendors and residents, then cool. If you think corporatism makes the world a better place, then even cooler.
Vassar really pushes the envelope with its liberal ideals, huh?
@ 11.18, well the starbucks at the new bookstore will be pretty close to the muddy cup. so if you can walk there you CAN actually walk to the muddy cup!
seriously people..
Coffee in my room.
to 12:38
if they want our business why dont they make their shit cheaper. and starbucks tastes good, and if the lives of those poor vndors is so bad because of starbucks existence then they maybe should do something else. ..
do you even know where the muddy cup is 12;49? how are they close?
TARD.
again with this liberal bullshit. I'm a REAL liberal. I understand that EVERYONE has right to make their buisness available to me not just small businesses.
you're not a real liberal because you don't understand power. you make me really really sick.
So I've got this coffee in my room still.
And Amazon.com
Problem solved?
8:49, do you even know where the other two coffee shops besides the Muddy Cup are? They're literally a block past Juliet Cafe/future bookstore.
Also, the bookstore forum is at 5 PM, not 7.
I'm 11:18 AND 8:49
and yes, not only have I've been to the Muddy Cup (which I love but you know how far it is), I've been to the Cubbyhole(I'm family friends with Leo) and it's alright but it is only a night thing. that leaves the Krafted Cup but theyre stuff isnt as good as Starbucks. You can have your opinion, I honestly don't care. I'm serious about my Caramel Frapp.
But this garbage "12:38 AM"
brings up about "Vassar really pushes the envelope with its liberal ideals, huh?"??? and also this "You arent a Liberal. You don't understand power. You make me sick"
I believe it is you who does not understand true liberalism and power. Starbucks started as a small company and grew into corporation. Some of you so called liberals find it fashionable to lump all corporations together even the ones that have done nothing but pursue expansion within legal means.
If you want to be a crusader against large companies and support small ones, GO AHEAD but let me reiterate: EVERYONE has the right to make their buisness available to me not just small businesses. And if I support large buisnesses that does not make me any less of a Liberal. All of you Nametag Liberals need learn about the tenets of your supposed philosphy before criticize real Liberals.
Goodnight.
Oh and again... I NEEDZ my caramel frapp! SRSLY!
sorry I meant "their stuff".
I only add that because I know some people will pounce on a typo in order to discredit my entire argument. I know because I've done them before. Illogical fallacious arguments works wonders sometimes.
