why can't sarah palin use correct sentence structure, answer the question directly or say nuclear?? if she brings up alaska one more time....

i'm just glad we all like israel.

biden fuckin' ripped it

Palin won the debate. She outperformed expectations. I felt she really connected with the people at home, while Biden sounded slightly condescending. Win or lose in November, Palin has a future in national politics.

Well darn diggity if that wasn't a swell debate I just you know want change in the White House John McCain fought that war with the nucular. Her reward certainly is in heaven, isn't it?

i hate biden even more now.

i didn't even know it would be possible.

I think Palin is smarter than she looks (or her handlers are). She knows what the public thinks of her and she used that to her advantage with all the "Joe Six-Pack" lines.

My crush on her is growing by the day. She's so damn cute. Terrifying, but cute.

Biden got me when he got choked up talking about his family. I like him more than I like Obama.

Biden/Palin '12!

Just because she outperformed expectations doesn't mean she outperformed BIDEN. She may have done what she had to do, but he gave intelligent answers to the questions, wasn't condescending (as he was expected to be), and altogether did a better job than she did. Either way, it was really enjoyable to watch!

Biden kicked ass. He seriously ripped her to shreds. To 11:23, Palin exceeded expectations, but that doesn't mean she won. In fact, she got seriously fucked up by Biden. He pulled her apart. She kept repeating the same messages that had been fed to her by advisors, and when she couldn' t answer a question (which was most of the time) she repeated garbled statements about energy and mavericks. Plus, she allied the US government with terrorist organizations THREE TIMES. That's right, three. Once, she said the US would work with the Taliban. Two more times she said we were allied with Al Qaeda. She said Maverick 8+ times, "darn right" 4+ times, and "heck of a lot" 3+ times, as well as using "Joe six-pack" and "hockey mom" in the SAME SENTENCE. She has absolutely no substance, and Obama/Biden have the experience and know-how necessary to run this country.

Word 1129.

We are not comparing her to her former interviews/statements. We are comparing her to him. And he killed her. imo

Anonymous said...

took a shot every time she said something, random or not, about "energy" or "darn right".
i am now having my stomach pumped.

Anonymous said...

i think they really needed to talk about women's rights

Anonymous said...

11:56, I feel your pain.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 11.28: a Palin/Biden ticket would have been the golden ticket! Could we have those 2 instead?

Anonymous said...

there are people here that support palin? fuck.

Anonymous said...

Palin/Biden. 11:28 and 12:05, can I ask very earnestly why you feel that would be a good idea?

Anonymous said...

did ABC really play the debate over Grey's?!?
seriously, what is this country coming to??

Anonymous said...

11:28, I don't think she's that smart. Why do you think she seems so nervous, has trouble forming sentences under pressure? Why she repeatedly brings up the words/phrases "liberty" "freedom" "maverick" "hockey mom" "little old wasilla, alaska!" etc etc etc

It's because she's an absolute fucking IDIOT and she's hoping that we're idiots, too.

That being said, did anyone else love Joe Biden's faces??? Dude's a total character

Anonymous said...

WHAT? There are people at Vassar that support Palin?

Biden won hands down. Palin referred only to the same old Republican talking points, while Biden made a VERY strong case in saying that a vote for McCain/Palin is essentially a vote for Bush/Cheney.

I think Biden really connected with Americans, and I don't think he sounded condescending at all. I thought he was a very very gracious debater; he never called Palin out on any of her question dodging, and he stuck to his points, and I was very engaged with everything that he said. He explained things very well.

By the by, Sarah Palin can't even name a single newspaper she reads, and she thinks homosexuality is a choice.

Also, I agree w/ everyone who said that she didn't win the debate. Outperforming expectations does not mean she outperformed Biden. Biden won, hands down.

She was so full of shit she made my brain hurt.

I love how she wants to protect the women's rights we have in America from terrorists. Priceless.
And that she's an "energy expert."
Hah.

I love how in her interview with Katie Couric she said she would counsel pregnant victims of rape or incest to "choose life," but is a proponent of taking that choice away altogether. She's surprisingly good at pumping out a steady stream of lies for someone who's so incoherent.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone else notice that she winked three times? And blew a kiss to the moderator? She's using her femininity to her advantage when it has nothing to do with her politics.

Anonymous said...

i don't understand everyone's talk about her "exceeding expectations".

how low were your expectations?

Anonymous said...

very low 1:55. very low

Anonymous said...

11.52 - Its not about her former interviews or about comparing her to Biden. Obviously Biden won on talking points.

But Sarah Palin won because she came off as a plausible vice president. And that was all that mattered.

{{{{DRUDGE POLL}}}} WHO WON THE VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE?...

BIDEN
30% 79,501
PALIN
68% 182,436
NEITHER
2% 4,453

haha. you use the drudge report as a worthy poll source??

I think she's a sweet little bundle of contradictions. She claims to support women's rights, benefits from them by her ability to run for VP, but if elected I feel she would confine all women to the household. Washing and ironing and pumping out babies and driving their sons to hockey games. What a bright future for women.

Anonymous said...

i love joe biden and he kicked her ass on everything that should matter to everyone. and at least does matter to anyone with half a brain

Anonymous said...

um, did anyone else notice that she echoed the sentiments of James Winthrop by calling America "A City on a hill"...
guess that means she'll bring us back to 1600's, Puritanical style!
I guess this country is in need of a good witch hunt...
i should write commercials.

Anonymous said...

Darn right she's full of contradictions, 9:21. One of the most glaring was when she said the financial clusterfuck was not the fault of American people and then started talking about personal responsibility.

1:50, notice how fake her folksiness was. She may have blown kisses and all that shit, but when Biden choked up talking about his family, she immediately changed the subject to "mavericks."

Joe Biden was articulate and respectful in a non-condescending way. He knew his shit when it came to the actual issues, and I look forward to him serving as our next vice president.

Get ready for martial law right around the time the election becomes a fraud and people start rioting.

Anonymous said...

HAHA she attributed the "city on a hill" thing to RONALD REAGAN!!:

"And we are to be that shining city on a hill, as President Reagan so beautifully said, that we are a beacon of hope and that we are unapologetic here."

You canNOT end a sentence with "also"!

Caribou Barbie whose claim to fame is that she was the mayor of Alaska's meth capital. YAY! The first time she referred to "soccer moms" it occurred to me that her handlers told her that not enough kids play hockey in this country so she should pick another moronic palliative that would appeal to a wider base.

Bitch makes my blood boil. She stands for nothing but turning back the clock 50 years on women's rights, reproductive rights and any semblance of intelligence in our national discourse. She scares the shit out of me and anyone that thinks she represents what our national leadership should be is seriously confused.

Wanna know what America thinks?

Look at polls in major newspapers in the swing states!

Ohio:

Orlando Sentinel
Joe Biden (3243 responses) 59.1%
Sarah Palin (1951 responses) 35.5%
It was a tie (295 responses) 5.4%
5489 total responses

Denver Post
Total Votes = 6881
Sen. Joe Biden 79.59 %
Gov. Sarah Palin 15.56 %
Too close to call 2.034 %
I did not watch the debate 2.804 %

I can't find any more polls (no time) but have a look at some message boards as well and you'll see that the GOP has faded...

9:21- I do not agree. I am definitely not a fan of sarah palin, but I don't think she has any plans to confine women to households, cause she definitely isn't going to be doing that herself.

Anonymous said...

It was also frightening when Palin began saying how she "looks forward" to following Cheney's example and exploring/expanding the "flexible" powers of the VP. At least Biden called her out on it.

Also, lol @ the questioner when she said Biden and Palin agree on gay marriage.

And, about the Biden choking up about the car accident/ his son, please. Imagine if a female political almost cried in a debate. Would anyone still have found it "touching," or would it just be proof that women are too emotional to hold positions of responsibility. What a double-standard.

Anonymous said...

uh... it's a tragedy either way. of course it would be touching. i think in this case it's almost disrespectful for you to be baiting for the double standards

1:21, Hillary cried during the primaries and it was largely credited with making her more accessible to voters and seriously rejuvinated her campaign. Crying is not always a bad thing, unless it's perceived as calculated.

I'm thinking that Joe Biden choking up when recalling his wife's death is not a calculated moment.

Anonymous said...

Um, 1:52, she didn't cry. She got a little choked up.

Anonymous said...

maybe palin won't force ALL women into the homestead, but that's clearly where she thinks we belong, serving our men and boys.
