The
Misc has chosen an interesting topic for the cover story of tomorrow's paper - the
Arlington Fire Department. The piece examines the "strained" relationship between our school and our local department.
There is also a piece on last week's armed robbery, which
we covered a few days ago.

i don't get why we should give them anything. we don't have to pay taxes, so why should we?
what "strained" relationship?
the fire department is understandably pissed. the misc article says that marist gives them a shit ton of money and we don't.
They are paid by the city. If they want a raise they should take it up with City Hall. Although I do see their point. We use their services and the lot of us do not pay taxes, at least not here. But still ... tough cookies. thats how our system works.

what a fascinating story about arlington fire... we really need to throw them a bone.
so we should waste vassar's money on freebies to public servants during a financial crisis? what's the point of that. they'll work for us anyway, so why give the cash.
Since when is a fire dept no longer a public service?
i liked the misc's thing about the Limit show. good joke!
3rd fire alarm to go off in Joss in a week! Of course they're annoyed...

Read the article! It's one of the best pieces the Misc has ever done! Great journalism.
