WatchVassar Is Just A Class Project!

The creators of WatchVassar were tabling in the College Center earlier today about their project. It turns out that the blog, which has stirred up some controversy in the last few days, is an Approaches to Media Studies final project, as was speculated in the comments on our earlier post.

The students behind the project - including some, if not all freshmen - are studying the broad range of reactions to the project. They have a five question survey, posing questions about how people heard about the project, what the initial reaction was, etc.

If anything it shows how students at Vassar can get worked up about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Especially on this blog.

They are definitely not all freshmen, only one is and it's like a group of five or six, although I don't understand why that should matter.

I think the concept is brilliant, and I want my 15 minutes of fame.
But really, the concept of a safe school is important, and I support the efforts to stop gun toting criminals from harming our students

HAHHAHAH
All the students who were FREAKED out by this.
Don't they have a life?
The fact that it started controversy shows the bloggers are smart at media and how people react. They should get an "A"

I like the stickers that they had with the REC symbol. Very creative project. I'm more freaked out about the live feed of the quad streaming on Second Life live that the college maintains.

I'm surprised more people don't know about that live stream. Though it's really such low quality that there's not much to worry about
