New Blog About Creative Writing

While the controversy over the plan to cut faculty from Vassar's creative writing program has slightly faded this semester, a new blog has been started to remind us how important the issue is. SaveCreativeWriting has grown out of the Don't Let Vassar Silence Writers Facebook group and other efforts from students and alumnae/i.

Two alumni ('88 and '02) and two current sophomores currently run the blog.

"We're looking for student bloggers, testimonials from English majors past and present, and--of course--breaking news and overheard gossip," a site administrator tells Mads.

This is the second blog we're aware of that aims at spreading information about Vassar's creative writing program, although Rumor: Fire at Vassar hasn't updated since January.

There is also going to be a campus forum to discuss Vassar's creative writing program, entitled "Past, Present & Future of Vassar College Creative Writing" on February 24th at 6pm in Sanders 013.

Check out the new blog here.
