The Poem That Got Millay Into Vassar

In 1912, Edna St. Vincent Millay '17's poem "Renascence" came in fourth place in a poetry contest, but when she recited it for a school director named Caroline B. Dow, the woman offered to pay for her Vassar education.

In honor of the alumna's birthday earlier this week, check out the poem here.
