ACT OUT! Presents InQUEERies Into Activism

Here is a message from ACT OUT! about their conference tomorrow, InQUEERies into Activism.

"ACT OUT! is hosting our first intercollegiate conference during the morning and afternoon of Saturday, April 23rd (don't worry, you won't miss any Of Montreal!). There will be a series of lectures and workshops that focus on issues related to the LGBTQ community.

You can attend for the whole day, or come to only one or two events... Whatever works best with your schedule or fits your interests. FREE lunch will be provided.

10:00-10:30 - Conference registration starts

10:30-11:00 - Icebreakers, introductions, and a general overview of the conference schedule

11:00-12:00 Victoria Ferrara speaks followed by an question and answer session. Victoria Ferrara is a lawyer who deals largely with legal issues affecting the LGBTQ community. You can find out more information here: http://www.victoriaferrara.com/

12:00-1:00 Lunch - We will be providing lunch for free with vegetarian and vegan options.

Workshops will take place on a rotating basis:
1:00-1:45 - 1st Workshop
1:45-2:30 - 2nd Workshop
2:30-3:15 - 3rd Workshop

Workshops:
- Beyond the L and G: Talking about Identity, Labels, and Community
- The Future of the LGBTQ Movement: radicalization vs. assimilation
- Strategies For Activism: Brainstorming strategies for direct action

3:15 - 3:40 - Break

3:40 - Nick Cooney speaks followed by a question and answer session. Nick Cooney is the founder of two non-profits and an author. He speaks to college activists about how they can be more effective at creating the change they want to see on their campus and in the world.
