Alleged Embezzler Was Firefighter Captain (And Other New Details)

The Poughkeepsie Journal published an article today with new information about Arthur Fisher, the former Vassar project manager who is charged with embezzling $1.98 million from the college.

The main development is that Fisher has connections to both the Ossining police and fire departments. In 2005, he bought an unmarked police cruiser with lights on eBay and in 2008 sold it to the local department. He also has a relative who is a former police chief in New Jersey. Further, he was a fire department captain until a back injury.

In addition, the picture of him using a walker is explained: he has undergone several back surgeries.

Finally, Vassar has named projects on which Fisher worked, including the 2006 renovations on Main Building and the recent renovation of the nursery school on campus.

Update: CBS says Fisher is "obsessed" with law enforcement.
